Characterized by large homes from the early 1900s and architecture Rosedale would envy, Forest Hill South contains some of the oldest and grandest parts of Forest Hill, including Forest Hill Village and Upper Canada College. Find mature greenery and parkettes you’d expect from an old Toronto neighbourhood, as well as the Key Gardener beltline trail running through its eastern side and the lower part of Cedarvale Park. The area is well connected via the TTC at St Clair Avenue West and Davisville subway stations.
Village People
Formerly known as Spadina Heights, Forest Hill Village was born when it was incorporated in 1923 and named after the summer home of local businessman and butcher John Wickson. The village is a buzzing centre with quaint independent stores and bustling coffee shops and eateries. Newer hotspots like the Aroma Espresso Bar are interspersed with institutions like The Forest Hill Barber Shop, founded in 1931. Lonsdale Gallery offers painting, sculpture and photography exhibitions from Canadian and international artists.
